I'm author Sylvia Brown-Roberts, and I'm a graduate of Rutgers University and Rider University. I'm also a retired teacher.
I create inspirational stories using characters who may remind you of yourself, people you know, or people you may have known. Humor, warmth, and faith are woven into these novels. They touch hearts and bring smiles.
Behind Church Doors (2010) is my my debut novel, and it's followed by Beyond Church Doors (2013). The main character in both novels is Nikolis McQuaige (NikkiMac). She finds out that Spirit-filled living happens only when she yields to God's will.
Here's a synopsis of Behind Church Doors:
Nikolis McQuaige is 40 years old, single, female, and a Christian. Like many of us, she has a colorful history, but, she knows her sins were forgiven when she came to Christ. Although she's determined to live a faithful Christian life, Nikolis experiences a tug-of-war between the flesh and the spirit. Sometimes, she doesn't measure up to what God expects of her, but, she gets back up when she falls. Will Nikolis stay out of her own way and let God direct her steps?
Beyond Church Doors continues this story of Nikolis and the lively urban church commmunity as they seek to translate faith into Godly behavior.
